Comune di Serra San Quirico

On the left side of Esino river, near the Mount Urano or della Rossa, Serra San Quirico is located just in the entrance of the homonymous gorge, partly sorrounded by blooming woods and on the other side by the typical vineyard or olive groves crops. For more than one century the slopes of the mount Murano have been systematically excavated to extract massive limestone, also used for building the near abbeys throughout the XI-XII centuries and of other handworks in the area of Esino valley. The whole municipal territory has been recently inserted in the field of the regional natural park of the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi whose site is in Serra San Quirico.
