The castle of Monte Roberto is an old one worth visiting for its historical heritage. At 330 meters on the sea level, it is 44 Km far from Ancona and includes a vast area of Pianello Vallesina. The most probable hypothesis about the etymology of the name Monte Roberto, is represented by the fact that it may derive from the name of a dominus loci, Hrobert, with a clear Germanic origin, a potential lord of the place after the year 1000.
