Mergo is located on the left side of the Esino valley where the Vallemani stream conveys the superficial waters of the south-east area; the north-west area must on the contrary be considered belonging to the Misa basin. The area is widely used from the rural point of view for seeding and vineyards. The population, decreasing in the historical centre, has widely increased in the small village of Angeli di Mergo that can count on efficient services and meeting places.
